Dr. Stefanie Ziehfreund completed her doctoral thesis in 2025 in the field of digital medicine and public health. She holds a B.Sc. in Sport Science from the Technical University of Munich (2016) and an M.Sc. in Public Health from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (2018).
Since December 2018, she conducted her doctoral research in the Digital Medicine and Public Health Group at the Technical University of Munich under the supervision of Prof. Zink in close cooperation with the Institute of General Practice and Health Services Research (TUM).
Her scientific work is centered on psychodermatology, with a particular emphasis on the psychosocial burden of chronic skin diseases, stigmatization, health-related behaviors, and patient-reported outcomes. Through population-based and digital epidemiological approaches, her publications explore how psychological factors, addictive behaviors, and digital health environments interact with dermatological disease trajectories and patient well-being. Her research contributes to a deeper understanding of the mind–skin interface and supports more holistic, patient-centered care models in dermatology.
