Happy Skin Europe - Happiness of individuals with chronic inflammatory skin diseases in different European countries
The multicenter, cross-sectional study "Happy Skin Europe" focuses on the happiness of people affected by chronic inflammatory skin diseases in different European countries. The aims of the study are to investigate how psoriasis and atopic dermatitis (AD) influence the quality of life and happiness of affected individuals and to carry out a European comparison of this topic. At the same time, we aim to evaluate happiness as a new measurable marker in medicine.
Eleven centers from eight European countries are involved in the study. The study population is composed of people aged 18 years and older with clinically diagnosed psoriasis or AD residing in one of the participating European countries (Austria, Germany, Italy, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Ukraine).
The project "Happy Psoriasis Europe - Happiness in patients with psoriasis in a European comparison" was funded by Deutscher Psoriasis Bund e.V. (DPV) with financial support from Novartis Pharma GmbH. Once a year, the Deutscher Psoriasis Bund e.V. (DPV) awards a research contract for a project that is expected to produce results with high relevance for people with psoriasis. "Happy Psoriasis Europe" is embedded in the main study "Happy Skin Europe", which includes patients with psoriasis as well as patients with AD.
