MELIUS – Tracking Allergy Risks in a Changing Environment
MELIUS is a research project funded by the German Innovation Fund that aims to identify the causes of allergic diseases triggered by increasing environmental allergen exposure. The project’s goal is to develop personalized recommendations for individuals affected by allergies.
To better understand disease activity and health behavior at the population level, MELIUS employs established scientific methods, including the use of crowdsourced data. A key focus is on analyzing web search trends and social media activity related to allergic conditions. Additionally, environmental data—such as pollen levels and weather patterns—are integrated for in-depth analysis.
